As at previous Travellers in Ottoman Lands Seminars, four (4) bursaries will be available for students giving papers at the TIOL3 Seminar in Istanbul. Each of the bursaries will cover the cost of seminar registration and meals, plus a contribution towards accommodation and travel costs. Recipients of a bursary must have had a paper accepted to be presented at the TIOL3 Seminar, and will also have roles in the seminar organisation, such as helping at the registration desk, manning book displays, providing IT and technical support to those giving papers, and other assistance as necessary. After the Seminar, recipients will be asked to write a 750 to 1000-word article giving their impressions, to serve as a record of the event to be posted on this website.

If you wish to apply for a bursary, please provide all the information specified on the application form below by 15 November 2024.

Successful applicants will be advised by 15 January 2025. Those receiving a bursary will also need to complete and submit a Seminar Booking Form. If required, TIOL will provide Letters of Invitation to accompany Visa Applications.
